Thanks to the OTF we have been able to add permanent work stations to 40 apartment units in Sojourn House’s Transitional Housing Program. They will be added to units in which newcomer youth and children commonly reside in. With adequate work stations, youth and children will be able to complete their homework from the comfort of their home. This is an important aspect of the project as youth and children can be supervised and supported from within Sojourn House by parents, guardians, tutors and staff. Many of the youth and children living at Sojourn House are notably behind Canadian students academically. Due to the irregularity of school systems in their countries of origin and so they require much time spent catching up. The work stations will be a positive support that will result in improved academic achievements.
